ReplyDeleteThere must be thousands of "stories" about this song so why would I be any different? Once upon a time, when I was manager of a record store, I found myself the object of someone's affection. We had a casual, friendly, sometimes flirtaceous friendship that began in the spring. As the holidays approached I hired this person for part time seasonal help. He was an excellent drummer, knew his music and was most attrative. He definately had the look. Since this was late 80's and Tommy Lee was one of his idols you can imagine...only he had blond hair:) The attraction was mutual, however, I insisted on professional decorum. Until one evening, a cold November evening, there was a knock at my apt. door. Standing there was "my little drummer boy" who told me he had been driving around for hours listening to November Rain trying to get up the courage to come and tell me how he felt about me. It was the sweetest night I could remember. I was older than he by too many years for anything lasting but for the short time we did have together, well, I wouldn't trade it for anything. Now when I hear November Rain I think of him.
